The smiles say it all as these 8 participants who embarked on an 8 Week journey with On My Feet crossed the finish line of the local parkrun. Having attended two training sessions and one workshop a week, and with mentoring and companionship, we measured significant decreases in their levels of depression, anxiety, stress and loneliness, as well as amazing improvements in their personal well-being, cardiovascular fitness and resting pulse. Tools used, were the scientifically robust DAS21 questionnaire, the UCLA loneliness survey and the Personal Wellbeing Index Measure. Several women lost a few kilos of excess weight. Most importantly, they became a tight-knit and empowered group of friends with 5 of the 8 now actively looking for work.
